  1. First - I need help identifying the camera. From what I can read it’s an Ikonta 521 with a serial number on the side N49834. The lens seems to be a Novar Klio 1:6.3 f/7.5cm. Does someone have some insight about the model and period? I read there were A,B,C model but I can’t figure which one it is. I would say A if I had to guess.
  2. The serial numbers don't quite line up on the chart for Carl Zeiss Jena lenses for 1938, but I think that may be a bit of a typo. However going by the chart and making an assumption on my part, I would say it looks like the date of manufacture might be approximately 1938 +/- a year or two. The camera maybe older than I thought.

Hello - I just posted in the forum to introduce myself. I received an old family camera for Christmas. I would love to get advice on how to make the best use of it and have a few questions.
First - I need help identifying the camera. From what I can read it’s an Ikonta 521 with a serial number on the side N49834*. The lens seems to be a Novar Klio 1:6.3 f/7.5cm. Does someone have some insight about the model and period? I read there were A,B,C model but I can’t figure which one it is. I would say A if I had to guess.
I am a bit confused by the shutter speed. It goes from B, 1, 2,5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200. It seems pretty low to me. Or am I missing something?
Then the last setting is I believe the focus with numbers from 4.6, 6, 9, 12, 18, 30 with a red dot, and « Inf ». I would love some explanations on this as well. I am beginner and found mostly German videos online and I don’t speak German
thank you!!
